Vivid and lovely! This generously proportioned, fringed blue silk piano shawl or scarf likely dates from the 1920s or 30s and is in beautiful condition. It's meticulously embroidered in a Chinese peony embroidery pattern, and is beautiful both front and back. The knotted trim is a very attractive, deep, double layer of fringe, measuring six inches in length. It would make a great, brilliant blue flamenco shawl, a wonderful addition to your flapper costume, or do something fresh and modern to your everyday or evening look!
And, while we're thinking of it, wouldn't this make a gift? You're welcome.
COLOR: Peacock blue ground, multi-colour, predominant pinks, corals, spring green.
MATERIAL: Silk.
CONDITION: Very good. Some slight marks in several spots, but quite difficult to see. The fabric and embroidery is all quite vivid. There are a few fuzzy pulls on the embroidery here and there, but nothing that couldn't be trimmed to perfection. There is slight uniform fading on the trim, but mainly gives the appearance of being a slightly different shade of blue.
This item is sold AS IS, and the price reflects the condition.
